This year, the Festival and Conference will have a joint theme – ‘Back to the future – looking ahead for active learning’.
The Festival is online and free to attend, and will take place 11th to 15th March 2024, with three 1-hour slots each day. It is a fun and interactive event where you can share your active learning practice, experiment with new ideas, hold a discussion on a topic or co-create resources.
There will be a range of sessions based around the following subthemes:
- I, Robot – Futureproofing teaching, learning and assessment in a world of AI. How can we make good use of artificial intelligence, and what are the truly human skills we need to promote to remain relevant in an automated world?
- Brave New World – Education for life in an uncertain future. How do we prepare our students to be well-rounded, socially responsible and resilient graduates? How do we prepare ourselves as educators?
- Stranger in a Strange Land – Embracing inclusivity. How do we anticipate future needs to make sure everyone feels at home? How do we ensure wellbeing in an increasingly complex environment?
- The Player of Games – Gamification and game-based learning. How do we make learning engaging and fun?
- Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Innovation and re-imagining the future. Wildcard topic.
