Idea #2: An institutional approach to active learning: lessons learned

Does it interest you that the Learning Landscapes report identified several opportunities as well as common themes: underpinning infrastructure, institutional culture, and learning and teaching practices? Look back at this chapter in the “100 Ideas for Active Learning” book, where Richard Beggs presents an engaging method for learning engagement in a structured format.

How did it go?

  1. This was an insightful read—thank you for sharing!

I’ve been exploring active learning in my own classes, and the idea of guiding students one task at a time through co-created learning really resonates. Structured support like this can transform engagement. In our department, we have a dedicated Pedagogy Cell where we regularly share classroom practices and host invited talks. I’m grateful to my institution for encouraging such reflective teaching spaces.
